Instructor Robyn Foster, an award winning artist, holds a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Victoria (honours and distinction). In addition to exhibiting her work nationally, Robyn specializes in designing and instructing visual art programs on Vancouver Island.

Create an acrylic painting while exploring colour theory. This extensive class also includes beginner abstraction, demonstration of materials, studio safety, brush care and handling.

Colour & Acrylics: Abstraction and Mixed Media


This course combines semi-abstract and abstract painting techniques with exciting mixed media processes. In this class you will learn how to use colour, composition, brushstroke, texture, and mediums to create fabulous paintings. This class also includes optional mixed media demonstrations and exercises for artists who wish to experiment with contemporary painting techniques.


Please pick up a basic supply list, materials will be further discussed during the first class. Colour and Acrylics or previous painting techniques recommended.

Colour & Acrylics: Advanced Studio


This exciting, ongoing class focuses on acrylic painting while emphasizing the importance or proportion, composition, perspective, scale and improvement of the overall quality of each student’s painting techniques. This course also includes information on how to tackle large-scale paintings as well as group critiques and personal instruction and consultation with the instructor.

Stretch Your Own Canvas


Learn how to assemble pre-cut frames, stretch and prime your own canvas. Workshop Includes information and demonstration on how to cut your own frames at home and how to prepare masonite as an alternative to using canvas. Pre-cut frames, canvas, glue and nails provided.

Trendy Tot Art

1 to 2 years


Introduce your tot to modern art. Explore shapes, colours and concepts through many exciting art projects from sculpture to expressive foot painting. Bring your imagination and running shoes! Create, pretend and play. Channel your child’s creativity and energy into one class. Each week children will make different types of costumes and participate in an informal, fun performance. Activities include games, pretending, movement to music and sounds. Busy little elves get to work this weekend to create and wrap their own Christmas presents. Kids will make several different art projects which they will then wrap in their own designer wrapping paper.  Parents, no peeking!
